In the Support Series, Soraya brings her expertise in individual counselling to an anonymous group – allowing participants easy and affordable access to knowledge and tools tailored to the uniquely challenging time we’re all living through.

Meditation, mindfulness, and breathing techniques are the cornerstone of these sessions – they are the key to how we get through! Sessions are topical and aim to provide coping techniques you can apply to your life right away and continue improving over time.

Join Soraya Carrim, M.Ed, CCC, for a four-week course that will help you power through – pairing coping tactics with breathing techniques to help you cope. Each week, you will listen to 30 minutes of teaching by topic, followed by 15 minutes of guided breathing.

  • 1 | Introduction

    These past few years, we have all dealt with conflict and hardship that we’ve never had to deal with before. From snowmageddon, to the pandemic, and everything in between, we are grappling with issues in our own lives and outside of them. This introductory session will set the stage for our work, and teach you how to properly breathe through it.

  • 2 | coping is the new normal

    Stress management can be approached in many ways. In this session, we’ll learn how to understand why we feel the way we do in different situations can help us analyze if our thoughts are helping us or hurting us. From there, we can then make decisions to help us feel better.

  • 3 | stress & mental health

    The mind is connected to the body. In week 3, we will explore how chronic stress can affect the body and how we can build helpful coping strategies. The more we pay attention to how we feel, instead of burying it, the more quickly we can start to feel more in control.

  • 4 | self care & creating balance

    Caregiving, self-care, guilt, and the impact of social media are complex issues we all face. In week 4, we’ll unpack how to make changes in our lives to create some balance and decrease stress.

Mondays and thursdays @ 9:00pm

These quick sessions will help you take a moment for yourself twice per week, to get in touch with your body and breathing, and better cope with stress. They will help you slow down, improve sleep, decrease stress, and increase focus. This program is excellent for those struggling with chronic pain, anxiety and/or depression, and is truly a kindness to yourself.
